My name is Sandy Winterbottom and I am a qualified personal trainer, Yoga teacher and Brown Belt Nia Technique instructor. I am also a qualified massage therapist and body worker specialising in sports and remedial massage, aromatherapy and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage at Knead to Relax Massage Therapies in Stirling.
Originally, a lecturer in Earth Sciences, I made a career change in 2009 to pursue my interests in health and wellness and set up my own successful bodywork clinic in Stirling. My particular interest lies in the mind, body connection and how our health can often be a result or a reflection of our state of mind. I explored a range of exercise techniques, before discovering Nia which like Yoga, is one of the truest forms of mind-body fitness. Nia nourishes mind, body and spirit. I teach regular Nia classes, workshops and run regular day and residential retreats teaching aromatherapy, relaxation, mindful movement and Nia. I also teach a range of yoga classes based on calming, slow, gentle and restorative practices. Above all, I believe that fitness should not feel like a punishment but that it should be enjoyable, kind to the body and sustainable, creating fitness for living and for life.
